Heather Fisch, PT, DPT is a physical therapist who is experienced in treating numerous musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions, including joint replacements, spinal conditions, hip/knee/ankle and shoulder/elbow/hand disorders, balance and gait dysfunctions, neuropathy, and sports-related injuries. Dr. Fisch offers her rehabilitation services at Northeast Spine and Sports Medicine’s Toms River location.
She has 1-year experience in the field, and treats patients of all populations, from teenagers through geriatrics. In addition to treating in the outpatient orthopedic setting, she has clinical experience in the hospital and acute rehab settings where she worked to rehabilitate patients starting at lower functional abilities. She has also worked with the Jackson Lions Football Club soccer players, assisting them in returning to play.
Dr. Fisch graduated Summa Cum Laude from Drexel University in 2018 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She has belonged to the American Physical Therapy Association since 2015, with special interest in the Orthopedic Section. In 2017, she attended the Combined Sections Meeting in San Antonio, TX to expand her knowledge, taught by highly experienced and renowned professionals in the field. She has taken continuing education classes, which include Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization in combination with movement to optimize function and performance. She continues to evolve her techniques in treating musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions.
She is a New Jersey native, who began working at Northeast Spine and Sports Medicine in 2012, prior to applying to Doctor of Physical Therapy programs, gaining inspiration to become a Physical Therapist. From a young age she was a competitive cheerleader and witnessed several sports-related injuries. She consistently found herself drawn to the rehabilitation process of these injuries, which is how she developed her passion for helping others return to play and daily function. Dr. Fisch’s goal is to tailor each individual patient’s treatment program to decrease their pain and dysfunction while optimizing daily function and performance.
