Beach season may be ending, but there’s no shortage of exciting things to do in the Garden state once Fall rolls around. If you’re looking to get more active in the Autumn, this list is full of special sporting events, charity runs, and community events encompassing everything from motorcycle racing to goat yoga. 

New Jersey Community Events— Ocean and Monmouth Counties

The New Jersey sports events calendar is jam-packed with incredible experiences. Whether you're looking for a smaller gathering of micro wrestlers or a miles-long race just for cycling enthusiasts, the calendar likely has something just for you.

September 7 – Monmouth Football Kickoff Festival

A festival with food, live music, games, giveaways, and more to help commemorate the start of the football season.

September 15 – 13th Annual Beach Volleyball Tournament

September 15 – Jersey Shore Walk to End Hydrocephalus

Sponsored locally by Northeast Spine and Sports Medicine, The WALK to End Hydrocephalus is the Hydrocephalus Association’s largest annual fundraising event, raising nearly $2 million last year thanks to more than 17,000 participants in 40+ locations across the U.S.

September 21 – The Endless Summer Walk

A fun annual walk along the NJ coast stretching from the Aberdeen/Matawan train station to Asbury Park.

September 21 – Festival of the Sea 5K

A short, friendly run open to athletes, families, kids in strollers, and even pets. The course goes along Point Pleasant Beach and the adjoining boardwalk.

September 21 – Barrier Island Classic Surf Competition

Long and short board division surf contests for surfers 18 years of age and older.

September 23 – Novo Nordisk Annual Fall Golf Classic

An annual golf event to benefit Camp Nejeda, a camp for kids with type 1 diabetes, according to the reviews the Cream Ridge Golf Club has 18 holes and is well known among the players.

September 28 – Beauty and the Beach Run

A run/walk for women to benefit Aslan Youth Ministries, a nonprofit serving children and families throughout Monmouth County.

October 4 – 3rd Annual Stomp Out Child Abuse 5K & Family Fun Run

A 5K and fun run to raise awareness for child abuse and help support The Friends of the Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center.
