Electrodiagnostic Medicine
One of the many treatments we offer at NorthEast Spine and Sports is electrodiagnostic medicine consisting of EMG (electromyography) and NCS (nerve conduction studies) that test muscles and nerves. Treatment is available in our offices that are located in Jackson, Point Pleasant, Barnegat, Manchester, Aberdeen, Tinton Falls and Lincroft. A session typically lasts 60 minutes.
Electrodiagnostic medicine refers to diagnosing, evaluating, and treating patients whose nervous system functions have been impaired. Through electrodiagnostic testing, our doctors are able to determine what the electrical activity of a patient’s muscles and nerves are to thus determine a level of injury or damage.
Conditions that we most commonly diagnose with electrodiagnostic medicine in patients that come to us from all over Monmouth and Ocean Counties include: nerve complications, peripheral neuropathy, and carpal tunnel syndrome.
