Muskuloskeletal Medicine
At NorthEast Spine and Sports Medicine, we offer non-surgical orthopedic treatment including non-surgical pain management. But, what is orthopedics? Orthopedics involves a form of medicine that works with the correction of deformities of the musculoskeletal system including bones, joints, muscles, and nerves. Treatment is done in our Jackson, Point Pleasant, Barnegat, Manchester, Aberdeen, Tinton Falls and Lincroft offices.
We prefer to take the non-surgical route to heal your pain, but if we think surgical treatment is necessary, we’ll make the recommendation. Non-surgical orthopedic treatment is often beneficial for people who suffer with various types of pain including:
- shoulder pain
- knee pain
- back pain
Orthopedics has roots that date as far back as the 1700s. In 1780, Swiss doctor Jean-Andre Venel established the first orthopedic institute. The institute was dedicated to treating skeletal deformities in children. Breakthroughs in orthopedics came during World War I and World War II.
